History Is Repeating Itself If we look through history we can see much of the same symptoms we are now through anti gay arguements. It is the same type of hate, a minority not fitting into a preconcieved view of what they consider normal. It usually comes from the fear of the unknown and ends up attacking and prejudging things that are only different or contribute to an evolving society. Now ofcoarse black people went through alot worse but one thing is for sure it is the same "type" of hate gays and lesbians are going through now. In the south during segragation, white people claimed that their rights would be violated if they had to sit at a lunch counter next to a black person, and that no amount of arm-twisting could allow such a forced change. This will distroy the sanctity of racial purity, so went the argument. * Now days anti gay people claim there rights will be violated if gay people are equal along with straight people. No amount of arm-twisting can allow such a forced change. This will distroy the sanctity of marriage, so goes this argument. ************************************************************** They claimed blacks were prone to be white women molesters. * Now they claim homosexuals are prone to be child molesters. ************************************************************** They say God didn't intend different races to marry. * Now they say God didn't intend same sexes to marry. ************************************************************** It is not traditional for race to be equal. * It is not traditional for gays to be equal. ************************************************************** Interracial marriage only comes from lust * Gay marriage only comes from lust ************************************************************** We can separate black schools and white schools. * We can keep gay marriage and straight marriage separate by calling them civil unions. ************************************************************** Like a wise person once said, "If we do not learn from history, we are destined to repeat it." * close this window * go back to the website
